Haven’t written in a long minute because I was spending my New Year’s in NEW ORLEANS! It was sooo much fun. NOTHING healthy there whatsoever, so I was incredibly nervous to come home and weigh myself. I don’t mean that I didn’t eat healthy, what I am saying is that there is literally NOTHING healthy to eat down there. Those “Nawlins” folks love their fried, fatty, cheesy foods. When I told Terrence that my goal was to come back home and not have gained any weight, he laughed in my face. And you know what? MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! I certainly didn’t lose any weight, but didn’t gain anything – maybe .05 pounds. The hurricane drinks and jambalaya were awesome. Now. Back to the real world…
Well…
Until next week when I’m off to Paris! I guess I am getting all of my traveling out of my system this month. What’s interesting is that I will be in Paris during my one year Lap Band anniversary … which is next Thursday! I am so excited to be in Paris that day – it’ll truly be a day for thinking about how far I’ve come. I don’t think I will reach my goal of having lost 80 pounds by my one year mark, I weight myself this morning and it’s just at 75, but you know what? I’m feeling really proud of coming so, so close to my goal, especially so soon after the holidays and a trip to New Orleans. I put on my favorite green jacket today to wear to work, and it was much too big!
I am having a very hard time this week working out at the gym. I can’t wait for Spring time when I can go jogging outside after work, and it’s not 30 degrees and dark at 6pm. But I can’t let that stop me. I can’t build an excuse, and I have. I guess since I’m still losing weight and have been traveling, I’ve gotten off the exercise “band-wagon” a little bit
I know I did a ton of walking in New Orleans, and will in Paris, so maybe I’ve just given myself a break. But I don’t feel as toned or as upbeat since I have put off the gym. I went Monday night but that’s it so far. I need to get back into the swing of it again, because it’s just an important habit to have.
Okay, off to bed – have an early work day tomorrow!
